Hamilton Lane Launches Private Markets Indices on Bloomberg Terminal
Hamilton Lane, a global leader in private markets investing with $986 billion in assets under management, has introduced a suite of twenty private market closed-end fund performance indices on the Bloomberg Terminal and Data License. This MOVE significantly enhances transparency and benchmarking capabilities for private equity, credit, and real assets.
The indices leverage decades of proprietary fund and deal-level data, anonymized LP cash flows, and cover over 7,000 funds dating back to 2000. Investors gain access to granular performance comparisons across strategies and sub-strategies, with Bloomberg's distribution ensuring broad institutional accessibility.
This development marks a pivotal step in standardizing private markets evaluation, offering institutional investors the analytical rigor traditionally reserved for public markets. The indices' cash flow-driven methodology provides a more dynamic view of performance than traditional net asset value metrics.
